Terms & File License
The deal, in plain English: you buy the files, you build from them, you keep what you build. The fine points are below — they are short, and none of them are traps.
01What you are buying
Every MasteryForge product is a digital download — cut files and build plans in DXF, SVG or PDF, depending on the product. Nothing physical ships. You get instant access after checkout and lifetime re-downloads, including every future update to the library you bought.
02What "lifetime" means
"Lifetime updates" means for the commercial life of the MasteryForge library. If the service is ever discontinued, every customer receives at least 60 days' notice and a final full-archive download window. Access to files already downloaded is never revoked.
03The license included with every purchase
Every purchase includes a personal-use license. In plain terms, you may:
- Build as many pieces as you like, for yourself.
- Give finished pieces away as gifts.
- Modify the files to fit your own builds, machines and materials.
- Keep the files forever, on your own machines and backups.
One purchase, one maker. Passing the files themselves around is the one thing this license does not cover — see section 05.
04Selling what you make
Selling finished pieces made from our files requires the Commercial License. It costs $39 once, covers one maker or a shop of up to two people, and lasts for life. It licenses the finished physical pieces you produce, never the files themselves.
Full details: Commercial License — Sell What You Make.
05What is never allowed
These hold with or without a Commercial License:
- Do not share, resell, redistribute or give away the digital files — in any form, original or modified, paid or free.
- Do not upload the files to any marketplace, file-sharing site, pattern library or "free files" group.
- Do not claim the designs as your own work.
If someone you know wants the files, send them to the store. That is the honest route — and it is what keeps the libraries growing and updated for everyone.
06Original designs, warranted
Every plan in the library is an original MasteryForge design — no stock plans, no scraped content, no AI-generated designs sold as human work. MasteryForge warrants that it holds all rights necessary to sell and license the designs; every design is an original MasteryForge work, drafted, dimensioned and checked by human designers.
07"As measured" — check before you cut
Every plan is drafted, dimensioned and checked by a human before it goes in the vault, with dimensions in inches and centimeters. Even so, files are provided as measured — not as a guarantee of fit for your specific machine, material, kerf or setup. Before you cut stock you paid for:
- Test-cut in cardboard, foam or scrap first.
- Verify every critical dimension against your actual material and tooling.
- Confirm your machine imports the file at true scale, 1:1.
A two-minute check beats a ruined sheet of steel. That was true in every shop that ever existed.
08Workshop safety
Plans do not weld for you. You are responsible for working safely: eye and ear protection, ventilation, machine guards, and the right tool for the operation. If a step is beyond your experience, learn it first or ask someone who knows it. We write the plans; shop discipline is yours.
09This website
This site is provided as is. We work to keep every fact on it accurate — prices, file counts, formats — but the linked store is the final word at checkout. If anything here is ever out of date, the store listing wins, and we fix the page.
10Refunds
Every purchase is covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee: email within 30 days, full refund, no hostile questions. The details live on their own page: Refund Policy.
11Changes and contact
These terms can change; the date at the top tells you when they last did. A purchase made after a change is covered by the terms in force that day. Questions: reply to your order confirmation email — a human reads it.
